Maged S. Mikhail, MD has 23 years of experience in both private practice and academic medicine, where he earned the rank of Professor of Anesthesiology and Surgery at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California.

After graduating with honors from the University of Florida College of Medicine, Dr. Mikhail completed postgraduate training in internal medicine, anesthesiology, and critical care as well as aesthetic applications of medical lasers and phlebology (treatment of varicose veins). He is an active member of the American College of Phlebology and is board-certified in anesthesiology, critical care medicine, and pain management. His publications include numerous papers and book chapters in anesthesia, critical care, and pain management. He is co-author of an internationally recognized anesthesia textbook that is currently in its fourth edition and has been translated into all major languages.

Dr. Mikhail, who has always diverse clinical interests and expertise, trained in phlebology and aesthetic procedures through numerous courses, workshops, preceptorships, and one-on-one training with some of the most prominent, experienced and highly respected physicians in United States, including Drs. John Kingsley (Alabama Vascular & Vein Center), and Robert and Margaret Weiss (Maryland Skin, Laser & Vein Institute). He is one of just a few physicians in the greater Los Angeles area who are trained on the Cooltouch endovenous laser (CTEV) for varicose veins, and one of the first in California to use the Cynosure Affirm for nonablative skin rejuvenation and scars.
